ABOUT THE MILNERTON AQUATIC CLUB (MAC)
Milnerton Aquatic Club, known as MAC founded in 1976, is situated on the banks of the Rietvlei Nature Reserve with Table Mountain as its backdrop. The Rietvlei Reserve is a haven for bird life and has a walking trail for people to enjoy the tranquility of the outdoors.
Because of its location, ideal wind and water conditions, MAC has become a very popular destination for the overseas water sports enthusiasts who spend between 3 - 6 months of the year using our ideal waters.
MAC has a membership of around 600 with three divisions, namely power, sailing and board sailing. A recent addition to the sailing section has been that of the Cape Radio Yacht Club and its members with their model remote controlled sailing boats who enjoy the perfect water conditions that MAC has to offer.
Members can enjoy the facilities of the club's galley and the "Wet Start" Bar which offers exquisite views of the water and Table Mountain. The moment the sun goes down, members can enjoy the sunset while having a braai or simply enjoy a sundowner after a day on the water. MAC also has a large swimming pool, a toddler's pool, a small play park for its members.
A dedicated and professional management team head up the club management committee, which ensures the smooth running of the club on behalf of all its loyal members. Whatever you choose to do, or not to do at MAC you can enjoy a fun filled carefree day exactly as you wish, whether it is on or off the water.
FACILITIES
The club facilities available are of a very high standard and club members can enjoy an outing ranging from boating, braaing, swimming in the two pools, and walking in the Rietvlei Nature Reserve or simply enjoy a meal or a sundowner in the 'Wetstart' bar and watch the sun go down on yet another day in paradise. Day visitors are restricted from the club grounds but can use the municipal facilities.
The galley and bar, are open on a Friday evening, all day Saturday and all day Sunday, so you can enjoy a meal and drink at your leisure.
For any related queries, bookings or membership, please contact the Club Secretary, Dawn, on (021) 557 7090 or e-mail her at mac@nullmilnertonaquaticclub.co.za and she will assist you where possible.
